A Few Good Masks

Hey there, Bare Beauties!  I’m just over here masking and multitasking…  Masks are a great way to treat yourself and recharge your complexion when you don’t have the time or money for a professional facial.  (Even the more expensive masks last for months, so I consider them a great value.)  I try to mask once a week, and if my skin is acting up, I go for twice a week.  And, just because it’s Summer and you have a sun-kissed glow, don’t neglect your masking routine!  Sweat and extra sebum production can clog pores, and the sun can cause discoloration and over-dry skin if you aren’t careful.  Well, there is my spiel, and here are a few of my favorites:

La Bella Figura Bio Active Purifying Mask is a complexion-clearing powerhouse.  Unlike most purifying masks, which are mostly clay, and can over-dry skin, this mask contains raw Manuka honey, which is moisturizing and has incredible antibacterial properties.  Other potent ingredients include turmeric, which has more anti-inflammatory properties than just about anything else found in nature, and activated charcoal, which physically exfoliates and pulls any impurities to the surface.  Warning: the first time I used this, I got, like, five whiteheads the next day, but the more I used it, the clearer my skin became.  It really does “purify”; it’s an incredible mask.

True Natural Botanicals Pacific Exfoliating Moisture Mask is the perfect aftersun treatment for all skin types.  It is incredibly hydrating – but – it also happens to work wonders on clogged pores. Lactic Acid (a powerful Alpha Hydroxy Acid) removes dead skin cells without irritating, and it also has humectant and lightening properties.  This mask feels super-tingly while you have it on, but once you rinse, skin is calm, bright and hydrated.  If you are looking for an anti-aging mask, this is it.

I am so excited about the Tata Harper Honey Blossom Resurfacing Mask.  It’s no secret that I am obsessed with their original resurfacing mask, and I think this Limited Edition might be even better…  First, it goes on clear, so you won’t scare your kids or your lover.  And, because it goes on clear and completely dries in five minutes, you can sleep in it for increased effectiveness (it obliterates both blemishes and dullness overnight).  My skin feels tighter, but also more supple and hydrated after I use it, and I swear, I glooooowwww.  It’s perfect to use before a big night out.  Tata Harper only made 1,500 units of this superfood-for-your-skin mask, which contains raw honey from one of the first apiaries in the U.S. to go chemical-free.  And, between now and Wednesday, July 29, use the code BAREBEAUTY for 10% off!

Happy Masking!
