A Little Red, White and Blue

Are you gearing up for the 4th of July?  I am a sucker for a theme, personally.  I love wearing, baking with, and decorating with our patriotic colors.  Try on these red, white and blue cosmetics for size, just maybe not all at once…

VAPOUR ORGANIC BEAUTY SIREN LIPSTICK IN “COURAGE”

This true cherry red is creates a matte, bee-stung look and falls somewhere between a lip balm and a stain.  The color lasts for hours and fades evenly.  Vapour’s Siren Lipstick is a favorite Clean choice among beauty editors, and for good reason: 70% organic ingredients, wildcrafted botanicals, no chemicals, and beeswax and jojoba for base ingredients.  It’s also made with wind power and the packaging is not just pleasing to the eye, it’s also biodegradable.  Cost: about $22.  Purchase it here.  30% of proceeds of “Courage” go to the Fallen Heroes Fund, which benefits wounded veterans.

RMS LIVING LUMINIZER

I previously wrote about this product here.  It is truly the best illuminator/luminizer I’ve ever used.  It is not greasy, shiny, sparkly, or glittery.  It just does what it’s supposed to do, highlight cheekbones, browbones, etc, reflecting light perfectly.  It even works well on darker skin tones.  Cost: about $38.  Purchase it here.

KJAER WEISS EYESHADOW IN “BLUE WONDER”

Kjaer Weiss eyeshadows are some of the best mineral powder-based shadows around.  They are silky and apply easily and evenly and stay put all day without creasing.  I also love the packaging, which is reusable (eyeshadow refills are available for purchase).  “Blue Wonder” is a deep, midnight blue and it’s great for an updated smokey eye or for lining the upper and lower lids to make eyes pop.     Cost: about $38.  Purchase it here.

I hope you have a great 4th!
