Hello, beautiful people! I know, I owe you a post on A Night For Green Beauty that took place in Chicago a few days back. Every year, the ladies of La Bella Figura and their sponsors put on a beautiful event in a different city to celebrate and promote Clean, Green Beauty. I’ve been attending since its inception, and every year it just gets better.
As a blogger, this event means so much to me. It gives me a chance to cultivate and maintain relationships with brand founders and retailers who I wouldn’t necessarily see in the flesh otherwise. Yes, we are always emailing and keeping in touch on Instagram, but it’s so nice to have a little chat face-to-face with like-minded peeps. And, did I mention that this little community is the most warm, welcoming and genuine bunch a girl could ask for? I always leave A Night for Green Beauty encouraged, grateful and basically just pumped about what I do for a living.
I met some really lovely people behind brands I have not yet tried, like Province Apothecary and Mahalo Skincare and Root Science, just to name a few. And, of course, I saw some favorites like Kevin and Hillary of True Nature Botanicals, Suzanne of One Love Organics and Munemi of Mun Beauty.
This year, a “runway” show opened the event, and Integrity Botanicals, one of the sponsors (and one of my favorite places to shop online), asked me to model a hair and makeup look for them. Josh Rosebrook, who is a Green Haircare/Skincare genius, styled my hair, and Sheri Stroh did my makeup. You need to take a look at her work on Instagram; she is so talented, and not in the contour-you-within-an-inch-of-your-life kind of way, I might add. I also got a totally Green manicure from Jenny Perillo, who owns Noktivo Natural Nail Spa. My nails looked perfect for NINE days. Yes, I’m serious; it was the best mani of my life!
Richard joined me for the quick trip and we left Annabel at home with our cousin, Eliza. I am always so nervous and anxiety-ridden every time I leave her, but I think Annabel had a pretty awesome three days.
Our long weekend wasn’t so bad, either. We stayed at Soho House in the Fulton Market neighborhood/West Loop in Chicago, and it had the best vibe (not to mention that fact that it was gorgeous and the service was on-point). The day after the event, we went to our first Cubs game in four years (Richard is a life-long fan), and we had some amazing meals.
‘Twas a great weekend. I can’t wait to fill you in more on all the new products I’ll be testing!
I hope your week is off to a great start. 🙂
