We are heading out to our family beach house on Kiawah Island this weekend with some friends and our children, and I’m so excited to veg out and get some beach time with my people.  I plan on making breakfast smoothies for the whole house each morning, so I thought I’d share one of my favorites with you:

| SPICY CACAO BANANA POWER SMOOTHIE | (serves 1)

• 1 cup unsweetened coconut milk
• 1 frozen banana
• 1 handful kale or other greens
• 1 scoop vegan protein powder
• 1 tablespoon raw unrefined coconut oil
• 1 heaping tablespoon raw cacao powder
• 1 tablespoon chia seeds
• 1 tablespoon shelled hemp hearts
• 1 teaspoon chlorella powder
• 1 teaspoon maca powder
• a few shakes of ground cinnamon
• a dash of cayenne pepper
• stevia to taste, if needed

Blend all ingredients until smooth in a Vitamix or powerful blender.  You can totally do without including all the superfoods, but if you’re interested in exploring adding more of them into your daily routine, Thrive Market carries all of my favorites for WAY less than most retail establishments.
