As per your request, I’ve been testing tinted moisturizers with SPF for a while now, and I’m happy to report that there are so many great Clean options!  When active, natural ingredients are combined with high-quality mineral pigments and Zinc Oxide and/or titanium dioxide (the only two Clean sunscreen ingredients on the market), beautiful things happen.   When you are shopping for a BB Cream or Tinted Moisturizer, look out for Silicones (basically any ingredient ending in “-cone”).  Silicones are completely synthetic and never biodegrade, so putting them on your skin sounds kind of creepy to me.  Their purpose is to “blur” imperfections, but the reality is that they lie on top of your skin, not letting anything in or out, which means your skin can’t “breathe” and they can cause some serious irritation with regular use.

Juice Beauty is a very Clean skincare line and it is widely available.  I absolutely love their sunscreen, and I knew just by reading the ingredient list I was going to like the SPF 30 Tinted Mineral Moisturizer.  It is rich and moisturizing, employing hyaluronic acid to draw moisture into the skin from its organic coconut, jojoba, and sunflower oils.  While it is best for normal to dry skin, I have normal to oily skin and it does not feel too heavy, especially after it dries to a semi-matte finish.  This tinted moisturizer gives light coverage and it is offered in Sheer, Ivory, Sand (which I use), and Tan.  Cost: about $29 for 2 oz.  Purchase it here.

I love REN’s Satin Perfection BB Cream Sunscreen with SPF 15 and I’ve blogged about it before here.  This super-Clean tinted moisturizer really gives a luminous, even finish that is matte, but not too matte, and it minimizes imperfections.  Meanwhile natural active ingredients firm, moisturize and protect.  It is only offered in one shade so far, Light-Medium.  Cost: about $38 for 1.7 oz.  Purchase it here.

Jane Iredale’s Dream Tint Moisturizer with SPF 15 provides light coverage and is very moisturizing; it’s best for dry skin and it is offered in six shades.  Despite lots of great ingredients, it does contain Dimethicone, of the Silicone family.  However, it does not contain parabens, sulfates, petrolatum, synthetic fragrance or synthetic colors, so if you fall in love with this one, don’t torture yourself; it’s a hundred times better than most BB Creams on the market.  Cost: about $39 for 1.7 oz.  Purchase it here.
