So, you’re almost finished with your holiday shopping, (I hope) but not everyone on your list is going to want nontoxic makeup and skincare (I can’t imagine why not). Whether you’re looking for the perfect gift for an expecting mama, the gracious gourmand, or a busy traveler, Be Home Well has unique, Clean options. And, we’ve teamed up to give you a 10% discount on your entire purchase. Scroll down for details.
I recently discovered Amanda Greening’s new site, and it’s just what I’ve been looking for. A personal health coach, Greening was getting frustrated with having to send clients to dozens of different websites and stores for the best nontoxic options. And, Amazon is great, but it doesn’t support small businesses, and it can be overwhelming when searching for a nontoxic item when you aren’t even sure if it exists…. (I can’t tell you how many “nontoxic nonbreakable baby dishes” searches have ended in me just closing my laptop.)
We love our Three-in-One Nesting Lunchboxes. I bring one along for Annabel anytime we leave the house, and we all love them for travel; they’re great for the beach school, picnics, etc. because they keep food separate (apple sauce will never agin leach into your pasta salad) and fresh. This perfect little bento box is crafted from 100% high-quality, non-toxic stainless steel. Because it does not contain plastic, the lunchbox is free of all estrogen-mimicking chemicals, such as bisphenol-A (BPA), phthalates, and bisphenol-S (BPS).
I was also so glad to find Onyx Containers at Be Home Well. For a long time, I’ve been collecting Pyrex containers and slowly recycling or giving away most of our tupperware and plastic food storage, but even Pyrex uses plastic for its lids – yuck. Onyx Glass and Stainless Steel Airtight Containers are made from 18/8 stainless steel, FDA approved silicone, and borosilicate glass. These containers are perfect for leftovers, for the freezer, or for on the road. Just push the silicone button down to create an airtight seal. Pull the button up to release the seal, and lift the lid.
How guilty do you feel every time you use Plastic Wrap? (It’s not recyclable, and it leaches nasty chemicals into our food.) Bee’s Wrap is made of beeswax, organic cotton, organic jojoba oil and tree resin. The warmth of your hands creates a seal, and you just wash the wrap with cool water and a gentle soap. They are perfect for cheese, veggies, sandwiches, etc. they look cute, and you use can use them hundreds of times!
Other favorites are the Reusable Produce Bags and Reusable Bulk Bags. I use mine every single time I grocery shop, and people always ask where I bought them. It reaffirms to me that everyone would make better choices if we just knew where to find them! These mesh bags are machine washable, and you’ll find a million other uses for them as well.
Ever since I had Annabel two years ago, I’ve learned that organization is key to keeping us all happy and on time. These Zippered Travel Pouches help with that when we travel. Made from recycled plastic bottles, they come in a pack of 5, in multiple sizes, and they roll up into little-tootsie-roll-nothings. I use one for Annabel’s on-the-go snacks, one for her in-flight entertainment, etc. It helps me find everything in my enormous Mary Poppins tote so much faster. And, they are great for the busy professional traveller, too. We also use them for shoes, toiletries, socks, underwear, etc. when packing. A true lifesaver!
