I know you don’t think you have time to make tea that doesn’t include a tea bag.  I used to think that, too.  This delicious tea takes less than five minutes and is so worth it.  It actually tastes more like a treat than like medicine, which is more than I can say for Theraflu.  I have been drinking this tea hot in the morning and at night before bed as part of my Herculean effort to get well before our trip to Nantucket this week.

The benefits:

  • Encourages normal blood circulation
  • Fights common respiratory problems
  • Relieves stress
  • Combats nausea, morning sickness, indigestion
  • Ginger is anti-inflamatory and boosts immunity, not to mention that it soothes the stomach and aids digestion
  • Lemon boosts immunity and detoxifies
  • Raw honey soothes the throat and boosts immunity

Recipe (if you can call it that):

  • The juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 teaspoon finely grated fresh ginger
  • 1-2 tablespoons raw honey
  • 8-10 oz boiling water

Serves 1

You can also make a big batch and reheat each cup, or, in the summer, it makes a great iced tea (make it hot and then stick it in the fridge).

….

I am off to Nantucket for some R&R with my hubby and our great friends George and Sally.  I’ll be posting sporatically at best, I am sure, but you wouldn’t judge me for that, right?  😉
