This month’s hero is one of Josh’s first products, and in my opinion, one of his best.  Josh created the Cacao Antioxidant Face Mask for his own skin concerns years ago, and when his clients (he is a sought-after hair stylist in Los Angeles) asked what he was using, a skincare line was born.  Cacao is a supercharged antioxidant, so it brightens and repairs the skin, but it also balances oil production and stimulates circulation, which activates the skin’s own detoxifying and healing abilities.  Unlike clay masks, this mask does not pull or overdry the skin; instead it both detoxifies and nourishes, bringing all skin types to a balanced state.  Marula Oil and Alfalfa calm, moisturize and soften, and Cacao, Beetroot and Turmeric stimulate circulation, detoxify and brighten.  Anyone, young, old, male, female, would benefit from regular use of this baby.  Word to the wise: this mask is best applied before showering, (it’s messy to wash off) and Josh recommends that you apply a thick layer and leave it on 30-45 minutes for the full effect.  Oh, and the smell!  Prepare to salivate over this whipped chocolatey, calorie-free mousse.

This month’s sidekick is a longtime favorite – I have recommended it to countless friends and readers, and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t immediately love it.  Josh’s Hydrating Accelerator is like vitamin water for the skin and hair, making whatever else you apply work even harder.  (Mist face and neck immediately after washing off the Cacao Antioxidant Mask, obvi!)  I’ve been known to store it in our fridge in the summer, and it also relieves parched skin in the winter.  This hydrator-toner-light moisturizer is totally addicting and increases the effectiveness of just about anything else you apply.  It’s kind of a beauty hero in itself!  And, again, it smells soooo good; very refreshing an light.
