My Summer Face

I’ve never been a “full makeup” girl, but since I’ve become a mother, I’ve been trying to pair down my daily face to something simple and quick.  (I know, nice try, right?)  It is a well-known and cruel irony in the beauty world that a natural look sometimes takes more time, more effort and even more makeup than full-on drag.

I needed to find a routine that required about five minutes and zero precision, but still left me looking polished.  Enter: RMS Beauty.  I’ve posted about this incredible product line before, but I never realized how much I was going to rely on it until now.

1. RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up in #22.  What did I do before this stuff?  Hands down the best concealer I’ve ever used.  I use it anywhere my skin is uneven (under eye circles, blemishes, melasma, God, this is depressing!)  Cost: about $36.  Purchase it here.

2.  RMS Beauty Buriti Bronzer.  This is definitely what supermodels use, (at least Gisele and Miranda Kerr – I’m serious).  Cost: about $28.  Purchase it here.

3.  RMS Beauty Lip2Cheek in “Smile”.  A happy coral-pink that makes you look naturally flushed.  Apply sparingly.  Cost: about $28.  Purchase it here.

4.  RMS Beauty Cream Eyeshadow in “Solar”.  The most gorgeous shimmery bronze.  I literally wipe it on each eyelid; you can’t screw it up.  Cost: about $28.  Purchase it here.

5.  RMS Beauty Living Luminizer.  This stuff can fake bone structure and make you look like you got a full night’s sleep.  Who doesn’t need that?  Cost: about $38.  Purchase it here.

6.  RMS Beauty “Un” Powder.  Lightly dust this translucent, 100% pure silica powder over your new masterpiece to set everything in place.  Cost: about $34.  Purchase it here.

7.  Josie Maran GoGo Instant Natural Volume Argan Mascara.  I am always testing, and this is still my favorite Clean mascara.  It lengthens and volumizes.  (I curl my lashes before applying, though.)  While it’s not waterproof, it doesn’t give you raccoon eyes, even after a long day.  Cost: about $22.  Purchase it here.

8.  Ilia Beauty Lipstick in “Voila”.  Ilia is the Clean lipstick queen and Voila is the perfect coral.  I’m not even a lipstick person and I am totally obsessed with it.  Cost: about $24.  Purchase it here.

Tip: RMS is a coconut-oil based makeup.  Nothing is healthier for your skin, but if you are used to working with powders, there is a learning curve involved. Lightly tap this product on with your fingers and go slow at first.  You will get the hang of it and eventually you will be able to put in on in a cab with no mirror while zooming through the cobblestone maze of the meat-packing district.
