Waxelene: The Un-Petroleum Jelly

Looking for something to remove makeup, soothe chapped lips and hands, cracked heels, cuts and scrapes, your baby’s tush, split ends and windburn?  Waxelene is THE answer.  It is organic and totally non-toxic and only contains four natural ingredients.

Petrolatum (a semisolid mixture of hydrocarbons obtained from petroleum) is an ingredient we should avoid.  It has been found to be toxic to human organs and no matter where you stand on the political spectrum, petrochemicals are just not sourced in the most ecologically sound way possible, period.  I mean, at least our current vehicles actually need gasoline.  I am pretty sure we can moisturize with other ingredients that don’t take us to war.

Back to Waxelene.  I love it because I can use it on anything and anyone.  I can use it on my dry cuticles, my husband can use it as chapstick and I can squeeze some out and use it on Annabel’s bum when changing her diaper.  Waxelene creates the same waterproof barrier on skin that doctors recommend vaseline for, but unlike petroleum jelly, it will not clog pores.  It is always in my bag and I think it always will be.  And it’s budget-friendly!  Cost: $4 for .25 oz lip balm, $5 for .75 oz flip-top tube, and $18 for 9 oz jar.  Purchase it here.

Ingredients: Organic, non-GMO, non-hydrogenated soy bean oil, raw, unbleached beeswax, Organic rosemary oil, non-GMO vitamin E oil.
