Last week we talked about all the “pink-washing” occurring in the beauty industry during the month of October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Every year, many companies package up their standard product with a pink label and donate a portion of the proceeds to this worthy cause. However, they refuse to reformulate their goods to make them safe in the first place (most conventional beauty and personal care products contain ingredients that are proven carcinogens and endocrine-disruptors).
Last night, my husband and I were discussing that as necessary as large charity organizations are, sometimes it feels better to donate to a smaller, more personal fund. Today, you have the chance to do just that.
During the month of October, One Love Organics, one of my favorite Clean beauty brands, is donating 10% of each sale of their Rose Aromatic Body Serum to Ashley Caddell’s Breast Cancer Treatment Fund. Ashley, OLO’s director of sales, is a breast cancer survivor and a total rock star. Read her story here; and even more about her here; her outlook and attitude are truly inspiring.
As for the Aromatic Rose Body Serum, it is a dream, and one of Ashley’s favorite products. This light body oil is delicate but so hydrating and effective and it sinks right into your skin. Cost: about $39 for 3 oz. Purchase it here.
