Wondering how my 21-Day Metabolic Cleanse is going?
I must tell you, it’s going GREAT. No, I mean it! This is my third time doing this cleanse in three years and it has gotten so much easier each time. My withdrawal headache only lasted part of the day on Friday and I’ve felt really good ever since.
Some of you wanted a cleanse diary with recipes, so here it is.
Friday, Day 1:
- Read about my day in food here
- Oil Pulling
- Hot Water with Lemon and Cayenne Pepper*
- Dry brushing
- Daily oil and vinegar dressing taken as a shot**
- Supplements
- I treated myself to a massage instead of dinner and drinks on Friday night.
- No exercise today, but I kept myself busy with tasks all day to keep my mind off food. It worked.
Saturday:
- Oil Pulling
- Hot Water with Lemon and Cayenne Pepper
- Sweet Potato Pie Smoothie
- 2 Applegate Sage Chicken Sausage Links, Beet and Ginger Smoothie
- Sliced Jicama and hummus with pesto
- Turkey, Avocado and Tomato Lettuce Wraps, 4 Strawberries
- Dry brushing
- Daily dressing taken as a shot
- Supplements
- Power-Strolled Annabel for 1 hour.
Sunday:
- Oil Pulling
- Hot Water with Lemon and Cayenne Pepper
- Spicy Chocolate Banana Smoothie
- Romaine, Celery, Radish and Caper Berry Salad with Salmon and Daily Dressing (this was at a restaurant)
- Jicama and Hummus with Pesto
- Turkey, Avocado and Tomato Lettuce Wraps, 2 small chunks of pineapple
- Dry Brushing
- Supplements
- No exercise today
Monday:
- Oil Pulling
- Hot Water with Lemon and Cayenne Pepper
- Spicy Green Banana Smoothie Smoothie
- 2 Applegate Sage Chicken Sausage Links, Kale and Ginger Smoothie
- Jicama and hummus with pesto, Handful of Raw Cashews
- Take-out Sushi (with coconut aminos instead of soy sauce) and Green Salad with Ginger Dressing,
- 2 Small Chunks of Pineapple
- Daily Dressing (taken as a shot)
- Dry Brushing
- Supplements
- A Step Class from 1989, 1 hour
Tuesday:
- Oil Pulling
- Hot Water with Lemon and Cayenne Pepper
- Peach Smoothie
- Amy’s French Country Vegetable Soup
- Cucumber Basil Lime Smoothie
- Arugula Salad with shrimp, apples, mushrooms, carrots, radishes and spiced almonds and Daily Dressing
- Dry Brushing
- Supplements
- Pilates, 1 hour
*Hot water with lemon and cayenne pepper stimulates the body’s detoxification process. Both lemon and cayenne pepper are anti-fungal and boost the immune system as well as detoxify. I hated this drink the first time I tried it, but I’ve been addicted for years and now I can’t imagine life without it. Use the juice of half a lemon and as much cayenne as you can handle.
** The Daily Dressing is 2 teaspoons of raw apple cider vinegar and 4 teaspoons of cold-pressed extra virgin olive oil. Taking this once per day helps alkalize the body and flush the kidneys, liver and gallbladder.
