Are you over the age of 18? Yes? Then you should be using eye cream. It doesn’t need to be the fancy expensive kind, but everyone should use something. Even applying olive or coconut oil before bed is a good start. Many experts say that skin around the eyes appears ten years older than the rest of your visage. Yikes! It makes sense, considering it is more delicate, thinner, and produces less oil than the rest of the face.
Just like face creams, there are a lot of eye creams out there that are too expensive to not be doing you any favors. Many are loaded with parabens, phthalates, petroleum, PEG’s, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives (see “This Isn’t Pretty” header to learn more about these toxins). You only get one set of eyes. Treat them kindly with Clean, natural eye creams like some of my favorites, below.
DR. ALKAITIS ORGANIC EYE CREME
I’ve blogged about this amazing skincare line before here. It does not get any Cleaner than Dr. Alkaitis. Their eye cream has an unusual texture; it seems air-whipped and takes a moment to sink in, so it does take some getting used to. However, once it does, it is very moisturizing and gentle. The skin around my eyes is so sensitive (I’m guessing most people’s is). Most eye creams sting either my skin or my eyes and leave me frustrated and temporarily blind. Not this one. ONE LOVE ORGANICS SKIN SAVIOR WATERLESS BEAUTY BALM
OLO’s Skin Savior has a million uses, but I think this is a really great product to use as a night-time eye cream. It is a rich, thick balm and a little goes a long way. After putting this on at night, the skin around my eyes is supple and moisturized come morning. Cost: about $68 for 3.5 oz. Purchase it here.

TATA HARPER RESTORATIVE EYE CREME
This is as rich as eye cream gets. The moisture lasts all day and with regular use, the skin around your eyes will feel and look brighter and younger. Jammed packed with active ingredients, (like Spanish Lavender, which relaxes the muscles around the eyes) Tata Harper never disappoints. It also makes a great base under eye makeup.
