Mama Mondays: (Fast) Food

Daily Harvest Review on barebeauty.com

As a busy mother, I’ve found that If I don’t plan my meals ahead of time, I end up starving, only to binge eat half a container of hummus and 20 rice crackers.  That is no way to live.  Nursing only makes things worse; I’m always ravenous, and I have to keep my calorie count up to make even a little bit of breast milk (anyone else?).  But who has time to prepare food all day?  Enter: Daily Harvest.  I’ve blogged about this genius concept before here, and now I love it more than ever.

Daily Harvest’s ingredients are 98% organic, paleo, vegan, and unrefined; they use whole foods only.  They also flash freeze all their ingredients at peak quality, combine the most delicious flavors, and put them in a recyclable paper cup with a reusable/recyclable  plastic lid (that has a perferation for a straw!).  All you have to do is choose your flavors, place the order, add liquid, and blend.  It seriously could not be easier.  I always loved their smoothies, but I recently tried their soups, chia parfaits and overnight oats, and they are all yummy, and super fast (as in 30 seconds) to make.

So, if you’re busy (who isn’t), have the week from hell approaching, you’re nursing 24/7, or want to make an upcoming cleanse a little easier on yourself  this would be a great subscription.  And, you might think the price is going to be steep, but when you break it down, Daily Harvest is even cost efficient (approximately $7/smoothie).  You can sign up for just one delivery, or get them weekly, monthly, whatever.  It would also make a great present for a friend who just had a baby, and it’s definitely a good care package for a college student.  Sold?  When you sign up, use code BAREBEAUTY for 3 free smoothies!

Here’s to clean, easy, fast food on a Monday.
