My AM and PM Beauty Routine!

Hey Bare Beauties!  Maybe Monday posts are becoming a thing for me?  (Maybe.)  Well, it’s pretty darn easy (and motivating) to publish a blog post when Glitter Guide wants to know your Green beauty routine.  I know, right?!  Pinch me!  It was a really fun piece to write, and I hope it answers some of your questions about my favorites.

I thought I’d fill you in on a few of my other natural beauty secrets, while we’re at it.  Here are some of my tricks that make me feel my best, in no particular order:

  • My daily shot: 2 teaspoons of organic, raw apple cider vinegar mixed with 1 tablespoon organic, cold pressed plant-based oil (olive oil, flax oil, avocado oil, whatever you prefer).  This helps alkalize the body, and it’s so good for your skin.
  • Drybrushing!  It seriously makes a huge difference when you commit to it for a length of time.  This one is my favorite.  I found a dimple (!) on my rear end the other day, and it really motivated me to get back into this healthy habit…  #summeriscoming
  • Drinking 3-4 liters of filtered water every day.  This one is hard for me; I usually only get to 3.  Do green juices, smoothies and yerba mate count?!  I only drink out of glass or stainless steel containers; I love my BKR bottle.
  • The infrared sauna.  How many times have you heard me declare my love for this life-changing device?
  • Hot Yoga (can you tell I love heat?) might have literally melted my last 5 lbs. of baby weight off after I had Annabel.  I try to go twice a week.  When I don’t, I look puffy and feel cranky.  (I go to Charleston Power Yoga, a Baptiste studio.)
  • Pilates is the only form of exercise that I will do no matter what, whether I’m tired, hungover, or about to give birth the same day (true story).  Pilates changed my body 8 years ago; I was even an instructor for a few years.  (I go to Exhale Pilates.)
  • I cut dairy out of my diet (99% of the time), and I swear, everything has improved.  My skin, first and foremost, stays almost entirely clear when I don’t eat dairy, and my eyes are clear, calm and brighter (when I consume dairy, my eyes become pink, runny, and feel itchy and dry, and I basically want to claw them out of my head).  My digestion is also more efficient, my stomach is flatter and I’m less mucus-y.  Cheese, I miss you, but not that much.

There are so many more, but we will leave them for another post!  What are your beauty secrets?
