So, how are your lips doing these days?  If they’ve been dry, chapped, flaky or cracked, this post is for you.  Going back and forth between bone-dry hot and cold air will zap all moisture from your skin, the lips in particular.  Did you know that lips are the only skin on your face that doesn’t have any sebaceous glands?  These glands keep your skin moisturized, but your lips are on their own.  You need to look out for the poor lil’ guys!  I’ve rounded up my favorites – and I’ve tried dozens and dozens – to share with you.  Whether they live in my purse on on my nightstand, these are the lip balms I reach for most often.

Henné Organics Luxury Lip Balm: This lip balm just does its job, plain and simple.  Bursting full of plant-based organics oils and butters, Henné is my current favorite for bedtime.  It doesn’t stain the sheets, and when I wake up, my lips are soft, moisturized, and I can still feel the product on my lips.  It is pretty perfect.

Waxelene creates the same waterproof barrier that doctors recommend petroleum jelly for but contains no petroleum or hydrogenated oil.  Instead, a patented aeration process is used that won’t clog pores and makes it highly effective for any kind of dry skin issue, eczema and rosacea – prevents chafing, too. This is always in my bag – I have definitely used it as diaper cream in a pinch!  I cannot recommend this product enough – unless you or your little ones are allergic to soy.

True Organic of Sweden All You Need Is Me is a natural multi-use balm that is a great alternative to Aquaphor or Vaseline, and this one is soy-free (it’s mostly castor oil and beeswax with a few other organic butters and oils).  I love that you can buy it in a 15ml or 50ml tube, and with all of its potential uses, it’s great for travel.  A perfect product for dry cuticles, lips, minor scrapes, the options are endless.

Splurge Skincare Tinted Lip Buttah in In Love is the perfect daytime alternative to Chapstick.  The color looks like your lips, but better.  Doesn’t everyone want that?  I swear, more people ask me what I’m wearing when I have this on than any other product!  It moisturizes SO well, and the price is unbeatable.  I always buy them by the dozen, so I can have one in every purse, drawer and car.

W3LL PEOPLE Nudist Color Balm in #7 (Nude) has been one of my favorites for years.  The love child of a lip balm and lipstick, this product keeps my lips happy and makes me look put together, even if I’m really not (which is most of the time).  I love the perfect nude color so much, I even wear it out at night.

Kari Gran Tinted Lip Whip in Shimmer is a soft shimmery, champagne color that gives a glossy, moisture-rich boost. The thick, rich formula stays for hours and hours, so it’s perfect if you’re forgetful at re-applying.  I also love the Jolene/Shimmer Duo, – Jolene was co-created by Jolene Hart, author of Eat Pretty – it makes a great gift.
