The Universal Red Lip by Kjaer Weiss

I don’t usually wear bright lips during the day, but the weather in Charleston has been sooo dreary lately.  Combine that with mid-winter skin, and it’s not a pretty picture.  I’ve recently turned to wearing a bold lip during the day as well as at night and I really think it perks me up – not just my complexion, but my spirit, too.

I have found Kjaer Weiss Lip Tint in Lover’s Choice to be the truest, most classic red out there.  In the compact, it looks like a brick-red, which really scared me off at first.  However, the color has grown on me; it’s not too orange, not too blue and makes my teeth look bright white – without coming off on them.   Kirsten Kjaer Weiss was inspired by the color of a red rose: “I can’t imagine anyone this color wouldn’t look good on”.  Cost: $49 (including refillable compact).  Purchase it here.  I’ve found the best way to apply is with a lip brush, particularly Kjaer Weiss’.  Cost: $18.  Purchase it here.
